Duplicate Payment Defense
Once Shipper properly pays SMAT or its verified assignee, SMAT bears duplicate freight charge exposure caused solely by failure to pay the contracted Carrier (Section 9.11).

Tenders & Accessorials
Send tenders, POs, and special requirements in writing. Accessorials (detention, layover, storage, lumper, TONU) apply based on verified facility ELD/GPS records.
✓ Exhibit C Standards
Cargo & High-Value
Disclose hazmat, temperature control, and shipments valued over $100,000 before booking. Cargo claims are handled separately from freight invoices under Carmack rules.
✓ Exhibit D Protocol
SMAT Logistics LLC will not treat a bank, factor, remittance, or payee change as valid based solely on a new email address, forwarded email, PDF attachment, text message, or caller ID. Shipper is expected to use independent verification through a previously known SMAT contact before redirecting funds.
